Learning by doing, Curiosity did not kill the cat (+ a Career update)
(Initially posted on LinkedIn)
No I can't yet call myself an expert ;) but,
"An expert is someone who, over many years, manages to remain confident enough to keep trying and humble enough to keep learning." ~ James Clear
I have spent the last few months learning and relearning, rediscovering, and catching up on several areas and trends of interest in tech; data, cloud, cyber security and web3, and seeing how people and companies across the world are leveraging these building products and businesses, and solving (complex) problems. Deep diving and exploring stuff that I'm curious about, learning by experimenting is something that I have missed and haven't had much time for.
This process has been part of me figuring out what's next for me. Last year, I left Qhala for personal reasons, among them needing time off from the ups and downs, and the 0-27,360 kph of building a biashara on the African continent, one of the hardest things one can do vocation wise. This was a second attempt after leaving iHub Nairobi in late 2017. All the best to the Qnights led by the effusive Shikoh Gitau and Nicholas Loki!
As this year and season unfolds, I'm looking forward to the journey, and great opportunities to explore, learn, grow and create impact. I'm documenting - mostly for myself - a lot of what I am reading, exploring and learning on https://lnkd.in/djUuftnQ, a work in progress. Hopefully this becomes something I can sustain long term. I'm also looking to (re)connect with a lot more people across the world. Recommendations, intros, direct messages are most welcome!
